Growing up in a small trailer park community in Key West, the dream of becoming an astronaut was a journey into the unknown
— a dream Bill “Roto” Reuter knew he had to chase.
After watching the Apollo 11 moonshot, Roto’s dream of becoming an astronaut took flight and granted him the clarity and will to persevere at an early age. While that ‘dream’ never came to fruition, Roto’s experiences launched him into his career of nearly 30-years as a successful and respected Navy pilot and officer. Those career experiences required him to navigate high-pressure situations, all while establishing his own leadership skills and values.
Roto obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida. Roto’s thirst for knowledge then led him to earn a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and Master’s in Business Administration from IMPAC University.
In one of Roto’s more demanding positions as a test pilot, it was his focus – and that of his team’s – to ensure the safety of our nation’s pilots by testing and qualifying equipment and safety measures. These very measures – had they been in place – might have saved not one, but two of his lost fellow Navy Pilot friends. For Roto, it was during this period where he developed his clarity of purpose. It was in that environment — stressful but exhilarating, fulfilling while sometimes tragic — that Roto began to develop his understanding of what motivates people, how one builds trust and why groups achieve success
As a natural progression, Roto went from test pilot to commander for the Navy’s premier training system research and development organization. It was here that he managed more than $1 billion in training solutions annually, and lead a diverse team of more than 1,200 Navy professionals, both active duty and civilians.
After retiring from the Navy in 2012, Roto founded his firm dedicated to helping businesses grow in sales, leadership and culture. He coaches, trains and speaks to executives and leadership teams around the country. He is passionate about great leadership and has witnessed the profound impact on lives and organizations throughout this Navy career and beyond.

Through dynamic speaking engagements, on-site training and more – the John Maxwel Executive Director has successfully trained teams and individuals in leadership, execution and organizational health. Roto’s clientele includes both small and large businesses in both the government and commercial sectors.
